2019-2024 Merritt College PSF

I started the PSF just before the pandemic hit. Originally we were based at Merritt Community College in the hills of Oakland, CA. I was, and am, an adjunct professor in the bioscience department at Merritt. In addition to teaching microscopy, I began tutoring a handful of students in their basic STEM classes. The PSF was just getting going when everything shut down. and most things went online, which was difficult for teachers and students. While I helped the students I had, the lack of in-person contact made attracting new students difficult. The PSF was eventually paused and I focused on switching to high school students instead of college students.
