Closing the Gender Gap in STEM

The bioscience department at Merritt college has many outreach programs, such as dual enrollment in local high schools and a scopes-2-schools microscope loaning project. Below is an interview with Dr. Martien at Scientific Adventures for Girls, and Emeryville-based nonprofit designed to help young girls in elementary school learn about science. Merritt Bioscience loaned them a handful of microscopes for a month so that they could augment their program. Note, the zoom video is a little choppy but the audio is decent.
